I have taken a black and white image and rebuilt it to emphasize the texture and tone of the human body through the choice of a model with clearly-defined musculature.

The body contours have been overlaid with graphics so the viewer can ‘see’ into the image, with the embellishments clarifying and defining the body lines as well as highlighting the shadows.  A cold white background and morning light were chosen to accentuate the tonal quality of the shadows on both the body and the wall.  True black and white high‑speed film was used to capture a grainy image and accentuate the precision of the overlays, so heightening the drama of light, darkness and beauty.

The graphics are a visual pun and are from the first book of Genesis, the biblical record of the creation of the world.
